Through incredible community partners such as Reyes Winery and the Sierra Pelona Vintners Association, The WiSH Education Foundation makes a significant difference in the education for all students in the Wm. S. Hart School District by bridging the gap between pre-2008 funding and the funding our schools currently receive.  WiSH gets the money right where it's needed in our schools.  Our standards are very high here in the SCV - great schools impact every resident - so funding is of the utmost importance.  

People coming out to enjoy this Harvest Festival at beautiful Reyes Winery can feel great knowing that all profits will benefit WiSH - in addition to our annual funding of performing arts, athletics, special education and other programs, this year our funding focus is Literacy. So far we have funded hard copy books in every junior high and literacy software at each high school.  Because every student in the district takes English each year, this impacts every one of our 23,000 students!  We are far from done!  We need your help - visit www. Event Overview

 

The Sierra Pelona Valley Wine Festival is a showcase of Los Angeles’ County premier wine and spirit producers and culinary professionals. Now, in its second year, the Festival showcases nearly 150 wines from over 40 wineries, over 40 of Santa Clarita’s fine dining restaurants, spirit purveyors, gourmet food companies, and artists.

 

Mission Statement

 

The mission of the Sierra Pelona Valley Wine Festival is to promote and celebrate fine wine and foods of California in Agua Dulce, Los Angeles County - one of California’s hidden secret in one of America’s most affluent counties. The Sierra Pelona Valley Wine Festival focuses attention on Los Angeles’ premier wine producers and culinary professionals.

 

Vision or Purpose Statement

 

  • Charity: to raise funds for the WiSH Education Foundation
  • Education: for the general consumer, to promote Los Angeles’ County and Sierra Pelona AVA wine and culinary education through direct one-on-one access to world class culinary professionals and wine experts
  • Recognition: to bring national and regional attention to the wine and culinary offerings of Santa Clarita and the Sierra Pelona Valley.

The Sierra Pelona Valley Vintners Association supports The WiSH Education Foundation and many other local charities.

Demographics & Impact

 

In April 2014, the festival had over 900 attendees. The Annual Harvest Festival reaches the following people:

  • 89.5% of Festival visitors were from the Los Angeles County area while 11.5% were non‐local (50+ miles away)
  • 21% of those surveyed had never been to Sierra Pelona Valley
  • Median Age of Festival out‐of‐town guest: 44 years old
  • Typical Travel Party: 3 adults
  • 65.3% of the guests had an annual household income of at least $80,000, with 14.1% having household income of above $150,000
  • The majority of Festival attendees are married, employed full‐time and have a college degree
  • 28% of out‐of‐town guests reported that they stayed and paid for accommodations for an average of 2 nights
  • Out‐of‐town guests spent an average of $275 per person during their stay, $825 per party (not including accommodations)
  • The Festival employs 4 full-time staff. We also hire staffing, security and cleaning services, which employs over 40+ people throughout the weekend
  • The Festival spends approximately $75,000 of budget locally
  • The Festival has raised over $10,000 in our first year for Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation
  • The Festival strives to be a green festival and we pick up vendor recyclables including cardboard cases and wine bottles to make sure they are recycled. Overall, 90% of the waste from the event was diverted from the landfill in 2013. 

Marketing Outline

 The marketing campaign begins 5 months out and will utilize a cross selection of local and regional print, television, radio, telemarketing, social networking, internet and signage to promote the Sierra Pelona Valley Wine Festival.

Corporate Sponsors

 

As a Festival Corporate Sponsor, your company will become one of the Festival’s premier showcased sponsors. Your company will be featured in the overall promotion of the Festival and your company will receive broad exposure to potential and existing guests and other sponsors. To give your company the most exposure, we have exclusive categories in which you will be the only company in the following categories: Bank, Automobile, Cruise Line, Bottle Water etc. Corporate sponsors can entertain their customers, clients and employees at their own booth on “festival day”.

 

Item Sponsors

 

As an Item Sponsor, your company logo and/or company name will appear on the item, and your company will be acknowledged in the Program Guide. Organizations may sponsor or co-sponsor any of these mementos or an appropriate additional one of their own choosing: Wine Glasses (Presenting sponsor), Swag Bags (VIP Sponsor), etc. You may also donate items to be placed in the swag bags.

 

In-Kind Sponsors

 

As an In-Kind Sponsor, your business can donate any needed items you wish to our event (eg. Food, beverages, bags, tents, tables, etc.)  Your company will be acknowledged in the Program Guide.

You will receive your name/logo on separate Festival VIP Dining Area and on official wine glass, 1 page ad (back of book) in Festival program, 6 VIP tickets, and 6 General Admission tickets. .
